  • Full closure of Semmelweisstrasse
    The pipeline is in place, no more obstructions
  • At the owl
    The road An der Eule will be closed on one side from 13.05.2019 to 17.05.2019 because work needs to be carried out on the supply lines. The road will be closed on one side in sections.
  • Complete closure of Curt- Unckel-Straße
    On 17.05.2019 there will be a road closure on an hourly basis from 07:30. The road closure can be bypassed via Ernst-Haeckel-Straße and Sellierstraße. During the closure period, several garages are to be transported to Curt-Unckel-Straße.

  • Lutherplatz parking lot

    From 21.05.2019 to 20.09.2019, archaeological excavations will be carried out in the Lutherplatz/ Inselplatz parking lot. During this time, around 1/3 of the parking lot will be closed for parking.

  • Half-sided closure Schrödingerstraße 8-18
    Due to renovation work on the adjacent building, the road will be closed on one side until 08.11.2019.

  • Full closure of Thomas-Mann-Straße
    In the area of property no. 28, Th.-Mann-Straße will be closed to vehicle traffic from 15.05.19 to 16.05.2019 due to assembly work. Traffic will be diverted via the adjacent roads.

  • Jena Spring Market
    Due to the Jena Spring Market, the town hall parking lot and Eichplatz will be closed for parking until May 20, 2019. The e-charging station on Eichplatz can still be used. Access will be from Kollegiengasse. During the Jena Spring Market, the delivery time for the Altstadt pedestrian zone will be limited to between 06:00 and 12:00.

  • Construction work on Camburger Straße
    The construction work begun in 2018 to lay drinking water pipes in Camburger Straße is now continuing and is scheduled to last until the end of June. During the construction period, road traffic in the direction of the city center will remain on Camburger Straße. As last year, northbound traffic will be routed back to Camburger Straße via Spitzweidenweg and Scharnhorststraße.

  • Complete closure of Drosselstraße
    Drosselstraße between Jenaprießnitzer Straße and Steingraben will be closed to vehicle traffic until 29.05.2019. The closure is necessary due to the reconstruction of the gas pipes in Drosselstraße.
    During the closure, one-way traffic on Steingraben will be suspended. Resident traffic in Steingraben will be regulated by traffic lights at the junction with Karl-Liebknecht-Straße.

  • Narrowing of Am Eisenbahndamm road
    Until 26.07.2019, a drinking water pipe will be laid through the railroad embankment between Landveste and Straße am Eisenbahndamm on behalf of Stadtwerke. During this construction work, the cycle/walking path will be closed in the area of the construction site at Landveste and rerouted in the area of Landveste. There will also be a temporary narrowing of the road Am Eisenbahndamm, especially at times when traffic is lighter, as one of the two left-turn lanes in the direction of Paradiesbrücke (Stadtrodaer Straße) will have to be shortened slightly.
  • Complete closure of Karl-Liebknecht-Straße
    Stadtwerke will be laying a new combined sewer in the area between Brändströmstraße and Pestalozzistraße until around 31.05.2019. During this time, Karl-Liebknecht-Straße will be completely closed to vehicle traffic in the construction site area.

    Traffic will be diverted in both directions via Jenzigweg and Wiesenstraße to the Anger junction. The traffic light control at the Anger junction is to be optimized. However, residents can also bypass the roadworks via Am Steinborn and Löbichauer Straße. Temporary stopping restrictions will be put in place along this route to help traffic flow

  • Complete closure of Lichtenhainer Oberweg between the junction with Carl-Zeiss-Promenade and the junction with Döbereinerstrasse
    A full road closure will be implemented in the above-mentioned area until 28.06.2019. During the closure period, traffic will be diverted via the adjacent streets Phillip-Müller-Straße; Döbereinerstraße; Friedrich-Körner-Straße. The detour is signposted.

  • Closure of Marktstraße in Lobeda-Altstadt
    Construction work for the further expansion of Marktstraße between Marktplatz and Nikolaus-Theiner-Straße and further via Lobdeburgweg between Stadtgraben and Spitzbergstraße until 27.09.2019 - road closures in sections.
  • Maria-Pawlowna-Straße
    The road will be closed to vehicle traffic until 07.06.2019 due to construction work on the district heating pipeline. Traffic between Naumburger Straße and Schreckenbachweg or Am Rosenhang will be diverted in both directions via Flurweg.
  • Max-Wien-Platz
    The property at Philosophenweg 26 is being built on. For this reason, traffic space restrictions are necessary in the area where Kritzegraben joins Philosophenweg. In order not to divert traffic, a traffic light system will regulate traffic at this junction. The traffic restrictions will end in mid-2019.

  • Full closure of Mittelstraße
    The sewer in Mittelstraße between Otto-Schott-Straße and Kronfeldstraße will be renewed until 30.08.2019. This section of road will be completely closed to vehicle trafficfor the milling of the road surface . Afterwards, a section-by-section full closure in the immediate work area will be necessary. It is possible to drive around the construction site via the adjacent roads.

  • Traffic obstructions at the Mühlenstraße / Hermann-Löns-Straße junction
    Construction work has currently begun in the intersection area and will continue until 26.04.2019. During the construction work in the intersection area, electrical cables are being laid in the sidewalk area of the intersection. During the work, traffic will have to be controlled by traffic lights. This will result in traffic obstructions on Hermann-Löns-Straße.
  • Closure of Naumburger Straße / Rautal
    The Naumburger Straße / Am Steinbach junction is fully closed. The large-scale detour is via Brückenstraße - Wiesenstraße - Am Anger and back.

    Despite the barriers in Brückenstraße: Please do not attempt to drive through the residential area! Public and school buses drive through the small streets. "Creeping traffic" would massively obstruct local traffic there. In addition, the sidewalks are partially separated from the carriageway - the safety of school routes has top priority.

  • Full closure of Otto-Schott-Straße
    Otto-Schott-Straße will be closed in two consecutive construction phases until 24.05.2019. The 1st construction phase is between Kronfeldstraße and Okenstraße.
    This means for drivers:

    Otto-Schott-Straße only free as far as Okenstraße

    Coming from out of town:
    Otto-Schott-Straße only free as far as Kronfeldstraße

    Detour are signposted. Stopping restrictions apply directly at the construction site, which are also signposted.
  • Complete closure of Rautalstraße
    From 25.03.2019, Rautalstraße between Kuithanstraße and Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße will be closed to vehicle traffic. The detour will be via Kuithanstraße, Zitzmann-Straße, Straße and Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße or G.-Neumann-Straße. The closure is expected to last until mid-May 2019. After that, the Rautal area between Ottogerd-Mühlmann-Straße and Jägerbergstraße will be closed and traffic will be diverted via Closewitzer Straße. This section is scheduled to be reopened to traffic on 05.07.2019.

    During the closure period, a new drinking water pipeline will be laid in Rautal.
    In the fall of this year, this new drinking water pipeline is to be laid further along the Rautal to the end of Jena in the direction of Closewitz.
  • Complete closure of Saarbrücker Straße 28
    From 23.04.2019 to 29.04.2019, Saarbrücker Straße will be closed to vehicle traffic at no. 28. Saarbrücker Straße can only be accessed from the direction of St.-Wendel-Stieg as well as from the direction of Völklinger Stieg as a dead end without the possibility of turning.
  • Complete closure of Schillstraße 1
    Schillstraße will be closed until 31.05.2019 because the sewer and house connections have to be renewed in this area.Road traffic will be diverted locally and the detour will be signposted.
  • Road closure Stifterstraße
    Due to the laying of a new drinking water pipe, Stifterstraße will be closed to vehicle traffic until 31.07.2019. The construction work will be carried out in two phases in order to minimize traffic disruption for residents.
  • Am Volksbad
    The street Am Volksbad will be closed on one side until 28.06.2019 and is only accessible from Grietgasse in the direction of Knebelstraße. The closure is necessary for the construction of a footpath including ancillary facilities at the bus station. The detour is signposted.
  • Complete closure of Stadtrodaer Straße in Lobeda
    From 03.06.2019 to 04.06.2019, Stadtrodaer Straße will once again be closed in both directions in the area of the bridge between Lobeda-Ost and Lobeda-West and traffic will be diverted. The detour will be comprehensively signposted. The closure is necessary in order to pour the concrete for the new bridge.

    The detour is in the direction of the city center via the traffic circle at the Fair Resort Hotel and Erlanger Allee through Lobeda-Ost.

    Traffic will be diverted towards the highway via the Lobeda-West access ramp and straight back onto Stadtrodaer Straße, where traffic will have to be regulated by roadworks traffic lights at the junction with Karl-Marx-Allee.

    The full closure is already widely signposted in both directions, so that the bypass from the highway or from the city via Burgau and Göschwitz should already partially relieve the closed junction.

    At busy times of the day, there will be temporary obstructions due to the full closure.

  • Dornburger Strasse / Scharnhorststrasse
    At the junction of Dornburger Straße and Scharnhorststraße, the road surface in the streetcar track area will be renewed. From 27.05.19 to 08.06.2019, there will be traffic restrictions in this junction area. In particular, crossing and turning over the tracks must be prohibited during the construction period.
  • Bürgelsche Straße 15 closed on one side
    In the area of Bürgelsche Straße (Wogau), there will be a half-sided road closure from 20.05.2019 to 29.05.2019. Traffic will be regulated on both sides of the road at the construction site with a traffic light system. The traffic restriction is necessary in order to renew house connections.
