JenaConvention is online

18.07.2019

The new portal is primarily aimed at planners of conferences, congresses and other events in Jena.

Carsten Müller, the deputy director of JenaKultur responsible for the strategic development of conference and congress marketing in Jena, explains: "Last year, we asked our partners from business and science, the hotel industry and congress agencies how we could support them in their work. At the top of the list was the desire for an online portal that provides a compact overview of event locations, information on supporting programs, event tickets, service providers for all aspects of the event business, contacts at authorities, important location facts and much more. All in one place and not spread over 20 individual homepages that have to be found first. We are convinced that Jena Convention provides this desired support for our partners."

Barbara Lütz-Kranich, the project manager responsible for JenaKultur, adds:

We also want to use Jena Convention to make our city better known in the MICE industry. We are always surprised at how little our colleagues in other German cities know about Jena and its importance as an important business and science location. To change this, we will be running a campaign together with the German Convention Bureau (GCB) from the summer to promote Jena as a venue for conferences and congresses in the industry with the Jena Convention showcase.

After the Visit Jena guest portal and the event calendar, Jena Convention is the third major online project that JenaKultur has implemented within a year. Carsten Müller says: "With these projects, we are following the path that we formulated in our tourism strategy in 2017. Our aim is to use the tools of the digital world to make Jena more visible and tangible so that even more people can see what a great city we live in."
