JenaWirtschaft launches new portal for internships, vacation jobs and training
Just in time for the start of school, the new online company portal of the Jena Economic Development Corporation has been launched. The website www.JUPITER-jena.de brings together all relevant information on starting a career and training in Jena. All Jena companies that are already online in the JenaWirtschaft company database can post their offers for young people - from internships, vacation jobs and seminar papers to apprenticeships - free of charge. The new portal is supplemented with checklists, important information on starting a career locally and current career guidance events in Jena and the region.
"Many pupils come into contact with the topic for the first time in year nine when looking for a work placement," says project manager Daniela Drilltzsch from JenaWirtschaft. "With the new online portal, we want to create a source of information for pupils, but of course also for parents and specialist staff in schools."
A wide range of offers for young people
"JUPITER - the name stands for Jena Company Portal for Internships and Career Entry - gives the many committed local companies the opportunity to present themselves and their wide range of offers for young people to the right target group," says Daniela Drilltzsch. All interested companies are called upon to fill the database step by step and to enter so-called latent job offers - i.e. internships, final theses, vacation jobs, etc.
Schools and, above all, parents are important multipliers when it comes to career guidance: "Our information material goes directly to the career guidance teachers in Jena and , of course, to the young people and their parents, who are still very much the point of reference when it comes to choosing a career." However, as numerous job profiles have changed in recent years and decades, or entire new fields of work have emerged, "JUPITER" also aims to bring the older generation up to date.
The project "JUPITER - Jena Company Portal for Internships and Career Entry" is a pilot project funded by the European Social Fund. The aim is to establish a platform for local companies that shows latent job offers for recruiting young talent in Jena.
