Construction site report for the 47th calendar week + information on events on Friday, 22.11.

• Am Klosterhof (Wogau) , tree felling work completed
• Karl-Günther-Straße free again
• Leipziger Straße, crane work completed
• Rathenaustraße is no longer a dead end
• Ernst-Abbe-Straße 15, road can be used on both sides again
• Westbahnhof forecourt, bus loop back in operation
• Carl-Zeiß-Straße 3, road open again
• Löbdergraben, closure of the right-hand lane from Steinweg in the direction of Lutherplatz, has been lifted as of 16.11.

• Closure of parking lots Eichplatz and Rathausgasse
  From 18.11.2019, 6.00 am to 23.12.2019, 4.00 pm, the parking areas Eichplatz and Rathausgasse will be closed for the Christmas market.
• Complete closure of Nollendorfer Straße
  From 20.11. to 22.11.2019, Nollendorfer Straße between Am Planetarium and Thomas-Mann-Straße will be closed to vehicle traffic.
• No-stopping regulation Friedrich-Körner-Straße and Döbereinerstraße
  On 21.11.2019 and 22.11.2019, large components will be delivered by truck for the construction of the new gymnasiums in Döbereinerstraße. For these transports, the road area between Tatzendpromenade and the destination is only accessible if no vehicles are parked in the road area. For this reason, an absolute ban on stopping must be imposed during daylight hours on both days.
• Complete closure of Lützerodaer Weg (Cospeda)
  From 11.11.2019 to 22.11.2019, Lützerodaer Weg is closed to vehicle traffic in the area of house no. 10. Traffic is being diverted, the detour is signposted. Pedestrians are not affected by the detour.

On 22.11.2019, a large increase in road traffic is to be expected in the city of Jena. On this day, in addition to the numerous municipal activities, there will be other major events that will be attended by many guests. Many thousands of soccer fans will travel to the city of Jena for the FC Carl Zeiss Jena soccer match alone. The Long Night of Science is also a special event that is attended by many citizens from the city and the surrounding area.

Due to the limited capacity of the city's road network - in particular the unavoidable roadworks on Stadtrodaer Straße - and the limited number of parking spaces, the city council would like to make the following recommendations:

• Visitors to the events should preferably walk to the events, cycle, or use public transport.
• Please try to park your vehicle a little further away from the event venue .
• Please allow sufficient time for your arrival and departure.
• External visitors arriving by car should preferably drive from the Göschwitz highway junction via Rudolstädter Straße to the stadium and avoid Stadtrodaer Straße.

During the soccer event and already during the arrival time, the Wöllnitzer Straße between Jenertal and Am Stadion will be closed to vehicle traffic. Only residents living in the closed area and their visitors will be allowed to enter the closed area. Cyclists are not affected by this closure.

• Old street 17a
  Closure, reason: house connection relocation, 11.11.2019 to 21.11.2019
  An emergency route for pedestrians can be maintained. The detour between Am Friedhof and Bonhoefferstraße will be signposted.

• Am Kulm 21 (Ilmnitz) - complete closure
  The street Am Kulm will be closed in the area of house no. 21 until 30.11.2019 for installation work and a passageway for pedestrians will be maintained. The road can be used as a dead end without a turning point from both directions.

• An der Trebe
  Until 20.12.2019, a new gas pipe will be laid in the street An der Trebe in the area of house no. 17 to no. 25. This will require a complete closure to vehicle traffic. The diversion will be signposted. Pedestrians can pass the construction site via an emergency route.

• Camburger Straße
  Partial closure between Leipziger Straße and Scharnhorststraße until November 22 due to the installation of a new drinking water pipe
  Vehicle traffic in the direction of the city center will be diverted via Dornburger Straße, Scharnhorststraße
• Ernst-Ruska-Ring - complete closure
  Until 11.12.2019, Ernst-Ruska-Ring 1 will be completely closed on several days - not yet specified - between 07:00 and 17:00 due to necessary crane work. The Ernst-Ruska-Ring will remain a dead end.
• Göschwitzer Straße, closures, reason: renewal of surface course, until November 30
  The construction work is taking place in the area of the Göschwitz industrial estate.

  From 04.11.19 until the final completion of the construction site (30.11.2019 at the latest), Göschwitzer Straße will be one-way traffic for local traffic coming from the south. All other traffic - including cycle traffic - must be diverted via Prüssingstraße.

• Humboldtstraße / Straße des 17. Juni
  Due to the renovation of the bus stops at the Humboldtstraße / Am Steiger / Straße des 17. Juni intersection, the road will be closed on one side until 22.11.
• Karl-Liebknecht-Straße 150 - half-sided closure
  A new power supply for the streetcar is being installed in the area of the Jena-Ost streetcar terminus. This will require a half-sided road closure of federal highway 7 in the construction site area until 13.12.2019. Traffic will be guided alternately with a traffic light system.
• Lutherplatz/ Inselplatz, closure of approx. 1/3 of the parking lot, reason: archaeological excavations
• Magelstieg no. 19
  In the Magdelstieg area there will be a lane restriction until 06.12.2019. The restriction is necessary for the parking of a container. The restriction can be bypassed on site.
• Mühlenstraße (railroad bridge) - half-sided closure
  The railroad arch bridge in Mühlenstraße will be renovated until 30.11.2019. This will require a half-sided lane closure.
  
• Naumburger Straße / Rautal, full closure, reason: expansion of Naumburger Straße between Camburger Straße and Flurweg
  • The large-scale detour is via Brückenstraße - Wiesenstraße - Am Anger and back.
  • Despite the barriers in Brückenstraße: Please do not try to drive through the residential area! Public and school buses drive through the small streets. "Creeping traffic" would massively obstruct local traffic there. In addition, the sidewalks are partially separated from the carriageway - the safety of school routes has top priority.
• Rautalstraße, full closure west of the Closewitzer Straße junction up to the entrance to Jena from the direction of Closewitz, reason: laying of new drinking water pipes and renewal of the road surface, until November 29
• Stadtrodaer Straße, half-sided closure, reason: construction of an additional access road to the stadium grounds from Stadtrodaer Straße, until May 30, 2020

  • On Stadtrodaer Straße, both lanes leading out of town in the area shortly after the Am Stadion junction and shortly before the junction with Unterdorfstraße will be closed until 15.11.2019 due to current construction work on the new southern ramp to the stadium.

    During the construction work, traffic will be shifted to the left into the lane leading into the city shortly after the junction with the stadium.

    Traffic will return to the outbound lane shortly before the junction with Unterdorfstraße.

    Traffic in this area will be single-lane with two-way traffic (1+1).

    From 18.11.2019 to 20.12.2019, both lanes leading into the city will then be closed in the area shortly after the junction with Unterdorfstraße until shortly before the stadium junction in order to continue the construction work on the new south ramp to the stadium.

    During the construction work, traffic will be shifted to the left into the outbound lane shortly after the junction with Unterdorfstraße.

    The return to the inbound lane will take place shortly before the Am Stadion junction.

    Traffic in this area will be single-lane with two-way traffic (1+1).

    Both junctions will continue to be controlled by the existing traffic lights during the construction period.

    Congestion is to be expected at peak traffic times.

• Tatzendpromenade and Magdelstieg, full closure, reason: fundamental renewal of the Magdelstieges from Gustav-Fischer-Straße to Tatzendpromenade and the Tatzendpromenade from Magdelstieg to Lichtenhainer Straße, until June 2020
  • The construction project is being carried out in two phases. The 1st construction phase is between Gustav-Fischer-Straße and Bertold-Koch-Platz.
  • The detour is via Otto-Schott-Straße.
