FCC game on Saturday can take place with fans

13.08.2020

The city of Jena has approved the staging of the FCC soccer match with 1,895 spectators on Saturday, 15.08.2020 in the Ernst Abbe Stadium in accordance with infection protection regulations. Guest fans are not permitted.

Infection protection concept

The FCC's Spielbetriebs GmbH submitted an infection protection concept in advance. This was adapted in several steps in cooperation with the health department. The key points are the aforementioned 1,895 spectators, compliance with the minimum distances and a general obligation to cover mouth and nose. At the entrances, stewards will be deployed to ensure that groups do not form.

Good cooperation

Mayor Thomas Nitzsche praised the good cooperation between the players:

'The FCC has presented a carefully prepared concept. The current infection figures in Jena and the surrounding area are moderate. As a crisis team, in consultation with the health department, local transport and the police, we have come to the conclusion that we can justify the permit. I urge spectators and fans not to jeopardize these efforts. Please adhere to the guidelines. Only in this way can there be further football matches with fans in the Jena stadium.

Intensive evaluation to follow

The events will be intensively evaluated afterwards. The course of events and the overall situation in the stadium environment before and after the match will form the basis for the approval of future matches with spectators.
