Sunday: Open Monument Day in Jena - everything a little different

11.09.2020

The Open Monument Day has existed since 1993. It is coordinated by the German Foundation for Monument Protection.

The city of Jena has been involved since the beginning. This year, the Open Monument Day will take place on September 13.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the format had to change this year. The result is a small, but we hope interesting, program that includes a mixture of a few analogue offers, information on open monuments without special guided tours, live digital events and other digital formats. The digital Open Monument Day is a first for all of us. Monuments can be experienced without spatial boundaries, new perspectives become visible and a new form of communication is tested. We therefore ask for your indulgence if not everything is as perfect as you expect.
