Results of the consultation in the staff for extraordinary events

On March 12, 2020, another meeting of the City of Jena's staff for extraordinary events took place on the subject of the coronavirus. Here are the results of the meeting:

  • A total of 84 people are currently in quarantine, none of whom have tested positive for corona.
  • Preparations are being made to extend the city's fever consultation hours.
  • Even if there are currently no shortages: The University Hospital is asking for blood donations.
  • Elderly people and people with serious pre-existing conditions are particularly at risk.
    Therefore, an
    urgent appealfrom the staff : Avoid any event, even with less than 100 people. Any possibility of infection must be avoided.
  • Visits to nursing and retirement homes by children under the age of 18 should be strictly avoided. Young people can also transmit the virus without being ill themselves.
  • Older people are urged to avoid using local public transport at times when schoolchildren are out and about. This applies in particular to the times before 8.00 am and between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm.
  • Hygiene measures on public transport are being stepped up once again.
  • The City Council discusses a bill to streamline the operation of the city parliament.This will be included in Wednesday's agendaas a new item: " Amendment of the rules of procedure for the City Council and the committees of the City of Jena - formation of a special committee to ensure the City Council's and its committees' ability to act".
