Expansion of the corona risk areas by the city of Jena
Expansion of the risk areas
The city of Jena has decided to independently expand the corona risk areas. This is a significant expansion of the countries or parts of the country specified by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). The general decree applies from Wednesday, March 18, 2020.
In addition to the list of the Robert Koch Institute, the following countries are considered risk areas in their entirety:
Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain and the USA
As of Wednesday, the following applies to all returnees from these areas in addition to the RKI list: Go into home quarantine immediately and contact the number 03641 - 49 33 33 or corona@jena.de. Please state your name, whereabouts and how you can be reached.
Order applies retroactively
This procedure also applies to people who have been in these areas within the last 14 days. The length of stay is irrelevant; transit is also considered a reason for quarantine.
Benjamin Koppe, Head of the Department for Extraordinary Events, explains: "Jena has a particularly international character. Jena's companies maintain a wide range of exchanges across national borders. That is why we have decided to take this far-reaching step in close consultation with the Jena City Health Department. We are acting to protect the residents of our city."
