Jena Lord Mayor Nitzsche tests positive for coronavirus
Jena's Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche has tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 and is in quarantine with mild symptoms. He was informed of the result on Sunday. His family also tested positive. It is not possible to trace how and where the Lord Mayor and his family became infected.
Thomas Nitzsche will continue to work from home. In addition, all first-degree contacts have already been identified in accordance with the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute. They have been or will be informed by the health department and also placed in quarantine. This also applies to employees from the closest OB area from the administration, all of whom can continue to work from home. Administrative operations are therefore not restricted.
