The results of the vote on the 2020 citizens' budget have been announced
The residents of Jena have voted. A total of 5,175 votes have been cast for the 21 proposals since the launch two months ago. Everyone had five votes, so there were 1,035 participants. Based on the distribution of votes, a total of six projects can now be implemented over the next two years. These are the following measures:

"I would like to congratulate those who submitted proposals, which can now be implemented, and I look forward to seeing the results. These will be a successful contribution to the design of our city. True to the motto - by and for the people of Jena," says Christian Gerlitz, Mayor and Head of the Department for Urban Development and the Environment.
This year's citizens' budget had a total amount of €25,000 and could be used for measures of up to €5,000. There were a total of 43 proposals from the urban community, 21 of which were put to the vote after being reviewed by the city administration and discussed by the Citizen Participation Advisory Board.
All residents of the city of Jena who are at least 16 years old were able to vote. It was possible to register to vote online or take part using a self-printed ballot paper. A total of 1,244 people used this option.
Of these, 547 (53%) voted online and 488 (47%) voted using a ballot paper.
The youngest participant was born at the end of November 2004, the oldest in July 1930.
