New general decree in Jena Playgrounds open again
From Wednesday, February 3, 2021, a new general decree will apply in Jena.
In addition to editorial adjustments, it regulates the requirements for entering publicly accessible playgrounds. Persons over the age of 14 must wear a face mask. A minimum distance of 1.5 meters must be maintained between people who do not belong to the same household. This is to protect against infection. Parents are also required to ensure that their children keep a sufficient distance.
The new general decree originally announced for last week was postponed by the crisis management team in coordination with the Free State of Thuringia in light of the detection of the British and South African corona mutation in Jena. Once the situation has been assessed, the playgrounds will now also be reopened under new infection protection conditions as part of the new general order. The longer the lockdown lasts, the more important it is that children have opportunities to exercise in the fresh air. But even with the opening of the playgrounds, the appeal remains to use the great outdoors in particular.
Protection against infection remains the top priority
The possible spread of the virus variants that have emerged is being closely monitored and tracked in close coordination with the state of Thuringia. According to the Robert Koch Institute, the infection potential of the mutants is significantly higher than that of the original versions. Therefore, the appeal to the population to keep their distance - also outdoors - to be tested for corona even with mild symptoms and, if possible, to ensure that children are cared for at home continues to apply.
Should the infection situation worsen again, the city reserves the right to impose further regulations for public playgrounds - such as limiting the number of people or restricting the use of play equipment. This is now also regulated by the general decree.
Further regulations
- If it is not possible to wear a face mask for health reasons, a written medical certificate must still be presented. The content requirements have been adapted to protect the data protection interests of the persons concerned.
- In the city center, the wearing of face masks will also be extended to the streets Nonnenplan and Kollegiengasse.
