Energetic additions to the Jena fire department

Today, six new fire officer trainees were appointed by Lord Mayor Thomas Nitzsche. This was also accompanied by the oath of allegiance to the Basic Law. The young men will begin their training at the Jena professional fire department on 01.04.2021. They beat off competition from around 70 other candidates. The selection criteria included a demanding sports test with 9 disciplines under corona conditions with compulsory masks.

Two of the fire officer candidates had already spent three years with the professional fire department as trainee emergency paramedics. Both completed their apprenticeship with very good results.

Mayor Thomas Nitzsche is delighted with the new recruits to the fire department, whose tasks are becoming increasingly complex.
