Tests for children and test center in the Goethe Gallery

08.04.2021

Tests especially for children

To protect pupils and kindergarten children as well as their teachers and educators, the German Red Cross will offer special testing for children on April 10, 2021. This will allow children to return safely to class or their daycare center after the Easter vacations on Monday.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., children up to the age of 12, accompanied by a parent or guardian, can take a so-called saliva test (spit test) in the Goethe-Galerie. A person accompanying the child can also be tested.

With the saliva test, a throat or nose swab with swabs is no longer necessary. It is more child-friendly and easier to use and means less risk of infection due to the safety distance during testing. It has already been successfully carried out in Jena schools in the last week of school before the Easter vacations. The test result is available within 10 minutes.

Further test center in the Goethe-Galerie on Monday

From Monday, 12.04.2021, an additional DRK test center will open in the Goethe-Galerie for free citizen testing. Citizens will have another opportunity to have a rapid antigen test carried out from Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm.

A declaration of consent for minors from their legal guardian is required. This and a declaration of consent for citizen testing at the Red Cross are available for download at www.drk-jena.de or www.coronatest-jena.de.

It is helpful and saves time to bring the completed consent form with you to every test.
