Jena declared a restricted area for avian influenza

Since yesterday, signs "Sperrbezirk Geflügelpest" ("Avian influenza restricted area") have been displayed on the access roads to the city of Jena. This indicates special rules for owners of poultry. These are summarized in a general decree, which has been in force since April 2021.

The general public is requested to report dead wild birds to the Jena-Saale-Holzland Veterinary and Food Monitoring Office. Contact with these animals must be avoided at all costs.
