Seat cushions stolen from picnic site

The wooden seat covers at the picnic area on the newly designed Saaleweg "In den Jenaischen Weiden" have been missing for about a week. On 07.04.2021, a report was made via the City of Jena's defect reporting system.

On site, it could only be determined that the seat covers had been carefully and professionally unscrewed. It must therefore be assumed that the theft was planned. The damage is estimated at around €1,000. The city of Jena has filed a complaint.

In order to narrow down the exact time of the theft and possibly identify the perpetrators, the public is asked for help. Anyone who made observations at the site between March 23 and April 7 should please report them to the police or the city development department (email: stadtentwicklung@jena.de).

"Now of all times, when spring is luring people back into nature, the city of Jena condemns such vandalism to the highest degree," says Mayor Christian Gerlitz.
