The extreme weather conditions of the last few summer months have clearly left their mark on the city's trees. During this time, the employees of Kommunalservice Jena (KSJ) - Tree Care division have been watering the trees in two shifts every day and have also applied water bags to cover the trees' water requirements.

In densely populated areas, along roads, in public green spaces, in kindergartens and schools, the trees have a particularly difficult time developing their positive effect. Trees suffer from soil compaction, root breakage, road salt, parked vehicles and garbage, among other things. Urban and street trees are therefore dependent on additional care and maintenance. You can actively support the tree by providing additional watering, loosening the soil and caring for the tree slice. As a tree sponsor, you can also plant flowers, herbs and perennials in the tree grates.
