Mid-term review: MOVE and COLLECT of HBV Jena a great success
At the beginning of April, the handball club Jena 90 e.V. (HBV) called on its members and their families to combine excursions into nature with the collection of garbage and litter.
Kommunalservice Jena supported the initiative with logistics and suitable tools.
After the first few weeks, the results are already impressive:
- Around 55 participants, including 28 club members, 27 other participants mixed from the areas of family, friends, classmates and sponsors have been out and about so far.
- The participants have been on the road for 192 hours.
- Larger quantities (e.g. tractor tires, scrap metal, bulky waste, etc.) were collected at 6 locations and other packaging was disposed of directly at the recycling islands.
- A class from Schottgymnasium school became aware of the campaign and took part in the collection - as did the "Saaletreff" (active nature lovers and anglers)
- There is a lot of praise from people, especially "on tour".
This praise is reinforced by the municipal service. The voluntary initiative is very welcome - unfortunately, more and more people tend to simply throw their garbage into the countryside.
The campaign runs until April 30. The target is 1,000 collection hours.
