Masks are no longer compulsory in the city center

03.06.2021

The new general decree of the city of Jena comes into force on Friday, 04.06.2021. The obligation to wear masks in the city center and on playgrounds in the city will be lifted due to the low incidence values. However, face masks must still be worn at weekly markets and in public transport stop areas - provided that there is at least one other person there who is not part of your own household.

The ban on the sale of open alcoholic beverages will no longer apply as a result of the further opening steps.

The wearing of FFP-2 or FFP3 masks for doctors, therapists and their staff for treatments close to the face, in particular for ophthalmic or dental procedures, remains unchanged.

The supplementary regulations to the Thuringian Quarantine Ordinance have been deleted, as this ordinance has been abolished without replacement. All regulations for returning travelers, including the reporting obligations upon entry, are now uniformly covered by the Federal Entry Regulation.

The new general decree can be viewed at www.jena.de/corona and is initially valid until 30.06.2021.
