29th Jena façade award competition launched

Thanks to the overwhelming support of 16 sponsors, it is once again possible to award the Jena Façade Prize competition for the 29th time this year. The following companies, institutions and private individuals have provided a total of over €10,000 - including contributions in kind:

Mayor Christian Gerlitz is delighted with the civic commitment: "The support of the many sponsors over the past 29 years is a great incentive for the city's builders to strive for high quality in the implementation of the many projects."

Until October 1, 2021, projects can apply that are characterized by an outstanding renovation of the facades or by exemplary new buildings, preferably in combination with high-quality open space design. In addition, a special energy efficiency prize will be awarded for projects in which the architecture is combined with the use of renewable energies and technologies to increase energy efficiency in particularly exemplary quality. The projects must not have been completed in the last year.

A main prize will be awarded, for which further awards with cash prizes may be presented. For public developers and larger housing associations, only awards without prize money are possible.

The sponsors and the city of Jena look forward to receiving a wide range of applications.
