New state ordinance issued
The City of Jena's staff for extraordinary events welcomes the new state ordinance that was issued yesterday evening. "This ordinance has been issued with a sense of proportion and gives us the opportunity to adapt regulations to the situation in Jena," said Head of Staff Benjamin Koppe on Sunday. Paragraph 4 of the ordinance in particular, which contains references to the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute, confirms that the city is on the right track. Since mid-April, the RKI has recommended wearing a face covering as an additional component alongside social distancing and hygiene rules in order to reduce the speed at which the virus spreads among the population.
The obligation to wear a face mask will therefore be the central prerequisite for easing and opening up in Jena, in addition to the distancing and hygiene rules, home quarantine for travel returnees and bans on entering the premises in the event of corona symptoms. The general decree that came into force today remains valid in Jena. In discussions with Jena stakeholders, the state ordinance is now being intensively reviewed and a new general decree for Jena is expected to be issued on Thursday, which will contain possible further regulations.
"JenaVsVirus" camp ends with 17 anti-corona ideas
More than 180 participants, 27 challenges and 17 concrete project ideas and implementation proposals - this is the extremely successful conclusion of the Jena digital camp "JenaVsVirus". From April 14 to 18, the Jena community worked together online to develop local responses to the specific challenges posed by the coronavirus crisis. The camp was organized by the JENA Digital network, which is part of the Jena Economic Development Agency (JenaWirtschaft).
These and many other creative solutions were developed, ranging from a digital classroom to a digital mediation platform for voluntary work by the community foundation, virtual visits to Jena's museums and cultural institutions, a voucher platform for restaurateurs, retailers and service providers and a digital solution for case management by the public health department for people infected with coronavirus. JENA Digital and JenaWirtschaft will present all 17 projects one after the other from Monday (20.04.).
The organizers thanked all participants for their incredible commitment over the past week. "For the creative ideas, the innovative solution proposals and, above all, for this wonderful togetherness that has filled the entire community with life - despite the physical distance," said Cluster Manager Domenique Dölz. "An incredibly positive pull has developed. All of us against the virus and together for Jena."
The aim now is to harness the outstanding ideas for our urban society as quickly as possible to create real added value for everyone. The new JenaVsVirus community is open to everyone, as the initiators are still looking for people to join their teams in the subsequent implementation phase.
