Emergency care: definition of system-relevant groups
Yesterday, the state of Thuringia announced new professional groups who can apply for emergency care for their children. It was unclear whether emergency care would also be offered to couples where only one parent works in a systemically relevant profession. This was denied today during a telephone conference with the youth welfare offices. A statement from the Thuringian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport is expected by the end of the week.
Emergency childcare is still available to working single parents.
The application forms are being revised and will be available for download on the city's special page: jena.de/corona.
Overview of test results for SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Since the beginning of the outbreak in Jena, over 6,100 test results have been received by the public health department, checked and in many cases forwarded to other responsible public health departments.
The Am Anger 34 fever consultation, which is operated by the city of Jena in cooperation with the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, provided 1,435 appointments for SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19 swabs in the period from 05.03.20 to 22.04.20 and 155 appointments for a SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19 swab at the Corona Drive-through in the period from 24.03.20 to 14.04.20.
The total number of people tested is approximately 4,150. This total only includes people with permanent residence in Jena. However, the total number of tests for SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 is higher, as the people who tested positive were retested several times.
To date, 155 Jena citizens have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19.
In general, it should be noted that the number of tests in Jena is many times higher due to diagnostics at the University Hospital and the work of doctors in private practice, who have also tested and evaluated people from other local authorities.
Despite the fortunately currently stagnating number of new infections, it is still possible to be tested for SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 in the fever consultation if you have cold symptoms.
