Corona case numbers

There are still 158 corona cases in Jena, one person is in inpatient treatment in the intensive care unit. There were a total of 3 deaths. 149 people are considered recovered, so there are only 6 active cases.

Hygiene concepts make it possible to deviate from the obligation to wear masks during lessons

The obligation to wear a face mask in class can be modified by submitting a health concept that is checked by the health authority. This is regulated by the new general decree of the city of Jena. The concept must contain criteria for reducing aerosol accumulation in the air. These are, for example, a specific and strict ventilation concept or spatial solutions in addition to compliance with the minimum distance of 1.5 meters.

Mouth and nose coverings do not have to be worn during examinations and written exams or during short breaks for eating and drinking.

Children up to the age of 6 and persons who, for health reasons or due to a disability, are unable or cannot reasonably be expected to wear a face covering during lessons or even briefly within the school building are exempt from the obligation.

This does not affect the regulations of the state of Thuringia, which make it compulsory to wear a face mask when transporting pupils, during breaks in the school building and when changing rooms.

Demonstrations and assemblies on May 1st

We ask you to observe the distancing rules at the registered demonstrations and assemblies on May 1st and at the weekend and to wear a face covering when traveling by public transport and during the assembly.
