City of Jena continues distribution of FFP2 masks

18.02.2022

Since February 7, the city of Jena has been providing FFP2 masks free of charge to citizens at various points of contact. Due to the positive response and in anticipation that wearing highly effective masks will become increasingly important in the coming weeks and months, this campaign is now to be continued.

"New infections in Jena are at a persistently high level. Particularly in light of the lifting of restrictions on private gatherings and in the retail sector, it makes sense to rely on simple but effective protective measures. So far, the deliberately low-threshold campaign has been very well received by the people of Jena. The interim results are positive, with around 30,000 FFP2 masks now distributed," says department head and crisis team leader Benjamin Koppe.

A further 50,000 FFP2 masks have been procured via the city administration's fire department, which will be distributed to interested parties at the already known distribution points. The offer is available to all citizens without the need for proof. The city of Jena would like to thank the employees and teams of the facilities that organize the distribution during the respective opening hours.
