City of Jena: "Complete solidarity with the people of Ukraine"

Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche and the department heads Christian Gerlitz, Benjamin Koppe and Eberhard Hertzsch are dismayed by Russia's armed conflict against Ukraine.

"In these difficult times, our fullest solidarity goes to the people of Ukraine and the Ukrainian citizens in our city. We condemn in the strongest possible terms Russia's break with Europe's free and democratic order and the violation of human rights and peace. The shocking developments illustrate once again how important it is to work continuously and with united forces for democracy and peaceful coexistence."
