Start of participation in the Jena 2035+ cycling plan
Online participation in the Jena 2035+ cycling plan marks the start of the path to consistently improving conditions for cycling.
Work on the plan has been underway since February 1st. The Cycling Advisory Board and the Jena Cycling Decision Initiative are directly involved in the process. The RV-K office from Frankfurt am Main with a branch office in Jena was commissioned with the technical implementation.
The first phase of broad public participation starts with online participation. All interested parties can use the website to report gaps in the network, danger spots, deficiencies or suggestions for improvement. The reporting form offers a city map to mark the desired location. Particular emphasis is placed on finding out where cycle connections are really missing.
This is followed by a short survey in which basic questions about cycling in Jena can be answered. Those who leave their contact details will receive regular updates on the progress of the project.
Proposals can be submitted until 31.03.2022. These will be processed by the office and incorporated into the further process phases of developing the cycling plan. The Advisory Board for People with Disabilities and the City of Jena's Disability Officer will also be involved. Other important stakeholders and other advisory boards will be involved regularly and on an ad hoc basis.
Mayor Christian Gerlitz comments:
Improvements for cycling are close to the hearts of many citizens, which is why it is good that the development of the cycling plan can now begin so quickly. The close cooperation with the Cycling Advisory Board and the initiators of the Jena cycling decision will guarantee the development of an ambitious cycling plan.
The city's cycling officer, Ms. Zimmermann, is calling for intensive participation:
