Wreath-laying ceremony and commemoration of the bombing of Jena in 1945
Saturday, March 19, 2022 marks the 77th anniversary of the heaviest bombing raid on Jena. On this day, the traditional wreath-laying ceremony will once again take place to commemorate the bombing of the city of Jena during the Second World War. Lord Mayor Thomas Nitzsche will speak words of remembrance and warning. Against the backdrop of a real war in Europe, this commemorative event is more relevant than ever.

Afterwards, at 12.00 noon, there will be a memorial service in the town church of St. Michael, which was badly hit in the bombing, to which you are also cordially invited.
