BabyMap shows breastfeeding and changing stations in Jena

18.03.2022

Some time ago, Jena parents were asked about their experiences and wishes regarding breastfeeding and nappy changing in the city of Jena. The numerous responses resulted in a project with the aim of identifying and generating breastfeeding and nappy-changing facilities in the city and presenting them in a flyer with a city map and online for parents.

A total of 35 institutions, clubs, cafés and stores in Jena are taking part in this project and providing breastfeeding and nappy-changing facilities. These are marked at the respective entrance areas with appropriate stickers. Further facilities are to be added.

The flyer, including a map of the city with breastfeeding and nappy-changing facilities, is now being handed out to new parents via the Jena First Visits Service; it is also available to take away from the Jena Tourist Information Office.

A QR code on the flyer leads to the online display of breastfeeding and nappy-changing facilities in the Thuringian Family Compass, which will also be used by the city of Jena to provide an overview of services for families on various topics such as advice, health, education and leisure.

The flyer was created as part of a project of the Early Help Network in the Youth Welfare Service and was funded by the state program Solidarity and Coexistence.
