30th Facade Award: start of the competition
Thanks to the overwhelming support of 16 sponsors, it is once again possible to hold the Jena Façade Award competition for the 30th time this year. The following companies, institutions and private individuals have provided a total of over €10,000 - including donations in kind:

Mayor Christian Gerlitz is delighted with the civic commitment: "The renewed support of the many sponsors for the 30th anniversary is a great incentive for the builders in the city to strive for high quality in the implementation of the many projects. As far as we know, an annual prize with such a long duration that is mainly financed by private sponsors is unique in Germany at municipal level."
Until 30.09.2022 , projects can apply that are characterized by an outstanding renovation of the facades or by exemplary new buildings, preferably in combination with high-quality open space design. In addition, a special energy efficiency prize will be awarded for projects in which the architecture is combined with the use of renewable energies and technologies to increase energy efficiency in particularly exemplary quality. The projects must not have been completed in the last year.
A main prize with prize money will be awarded, to which further recognitions with and without cash prizes can be awarded. For public developers and larger housing associations, only awards without prize money are possible.
The sponsors and the city of Jena look forward to receiving a wide range of applications.
