Open fire department day on Sunday
Open fire department day
Sunday, August 28, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Am Anger 28 and in the grounds in front of it
Jena's northern fire station opens its doors for the third time. A varied program will be offered and top-class partners will be on board.
The Jena fire departments will be offering guided tours of the buildings, rescue from heights on the training wall, demonstrations of smoke development, refresher courses in first aid, fire extinguishing exercises with fire extinguishers for everyone and a chance to try out the breathing apparatus training facility . All volunteer fire departments will be on site with their emergency vehicles, which will of course also keep their doors open for the curious.
Strong people can help cut open vehicles and fit people can pass a fire department sports attitude test. For younger visitors, the youth fire department will be on hand with a bouncy castle and spraying exercises. The German Life Saving Association will be demonstrating water rescue operations and, as a special eye-catcher, a helicopter from the German Air Rescue Service will have landed .
Police on site
The police will also be on site. As well as presenting and demonstrating various vehicles and other command and operational equipment, the Jena police will also be setting up a bicycle course to explain the most important traffic rules to interested children.
The criminal investigation department will also contribute to a successful day and provide information about securing evidence and investigating fire scenes using a evidence case and "fire mobile". You can also get advice and valuable tips on burglary prevention in your own four walls.
The German Armed Forces have also announced their attendance to report on current tasks - and of course there will also be hands-on technology.
