DWD heat warning for Friday

The German Weather Service has issued an official heat warning for Jena and large parts of Thuringia for Friday, August 26 from 11:00 to 19:00.

This applies in particular to densely built-up urban areas. The following three basic rules are given to everyone:

1. avoid the heat.

2. keep your home cool.

3. keep your body cool and make sure you drink enough fluids and electrolytes.

If you are looking after someone who needs help or care, make sure that they also follow these three basic rules. If you or others experience unusual health problems such as circulatory problems, headaches or vomiting, contact a doctor.

Please also look out for elderly people living alone in your neighborhood.
