Participation in the Jena 2035+ cycling plan enters the second round

01.09.2022

After a successful first online participation at the start of the Jena 2035+ cycling plan, the second online participation for the evaluation of measures is starting. The aim is to take citizens' feedback into account when prioritizing the measures.

A lot has happened since the online participation in March, in which interested citizens entered thousands of comments on the creation of the cycling plan. The commissioned planning office has reviewed all the entries and, together with the appointed working group of experts and citizen representatives, has developed a network of around 270 km for everyday cycling in the city of Jena over the past few months. In large parts, the network already meets a good standard.

More than 300 measures have been developed for the defined network to help improve the quality of everyday cycling. These measures are also being coordinated in parallel with public bodies, e.g. Jena's local transport authority, the Lower Monument Authority and the Lower Nature Conservation Authority.

Citizens are now being asked to help again. In a second online participation starting on September 1, the current draft of the cycling plan can be viewed, information on the measures can be retrieved and comments can be submitted. In addition, each measure can be rated with a thumbs up/thumbs down. The comments and ratings will then be evaluated by the planning office and incorporated into the detailed planning and prioritization of measures.

The second online participation is available from September 1 to 30, 2022 at www.radforum-jena.de

The cycling plan is scheduled for completion in summer 2023.
