A new general decree applies in Jena from Friday
The new Jena general decree specifies the ordinances of the state of Thuringia where these remain without a clear definition in order to provide assistance to those responsible for infection protection in Jena's stores, craft and service businesses, restaurants and hotels as well as in facilities open to the public. The general decree will be published in the official gazette of the city of Jena, which can be viewed on the homepage, enters into force on Friday, June 19 and is valid until July 15, 2020.
Mouth and nose cover
The AV extends the regulation according to which a face mask must be worn in craft and service businesses, especially where services are provided to people, and healthcare facilities such as medical and therapy practices. Face masks must be worn in enclosed spaces where people meet in close proximity, e.g. in elevators, corridors and foyers, as well as in places where food and drinks are served in enclosed spaces and in covered circulation areas of shopping centers. Staff are exempt from the obligation if other infection protection measures are taken.
Guideline for stores
Stores, service and craft businesses and other establishments open to the public must include measures to restrict the number of people present to protect against infection in their infection protection concepts on the basis of the state ordinance. In order to make these state-wide regulations more manageable in practice, the city has specified a guideline value of 10 square meters of sales area per person, whereby staff are not included in this calculation. This guideline value represents a halving of the previously estimated area and will therefore allow a larger number of people access to the respective store or facility in future.
Obligation to register returning travelers
The obligation to register returning travelers will also be retained. All persons returning from abroad are obliged to report this immediately at rueckkehrer@jena.de or by calling the hotline on 03641-49 2222. This is particularly important in view of the start of the vacation season. The health authority can make decisions on a case-by-case basis based on the travel destination and time period. This does not affect the regulation of the Thuringian ordinance to go into domestic quarantine immediately after returning from risk areas designated by the RKI. All persons with symptoms of the disease must report to the hotline 03641-49 3333, regardless of whether they have been reported to their family doctor or the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians.
