Enclosed you will find the Jena roadworks report for the 44th calendar week (November 1 - 6, 2022). Unless otherwise indicated, cyclists and pedestrians will pass the roadworks.

FINISHED CONSTRUCTION SITES:

Kochstraße from house number 4 to the junction with Forstweg

  • The civil engineering work that has been ongoing since May has been completed.

Käthe-Kollwitz-Straße

  • Road completely passable again.

Erlanger Allee

  • Work on the tracks completed - no more obstructions.

Ritzetal / Am Steinborn

  • Road renewed, closures lifted

Roland-Ducke-Weg

  • Half-side closure lifted

NEW CLOSURES:

Fürstengraben

  • Type: Half-side closure
  • Location: from the junction with Saalbahnhofstraße to the junction with Leutragraben
  • Duration: 03.11. - 02.12.2022
  • Reason: Relocation of media
  • Details: The Fürstengraben will remainopen to inthe direction of out of town , a one-way street will be set up for this purpose. Inbound traffic will be diverted. Pedestrians will be guidedsafely past the construction site.

EXISTING ROADWORKS:

Construction work at the final stop in Erlanger Allee / Carolinenstraße

Buchenweg

  • Type: Half-sided closure
  • Location: House number 34
  • Duration: until 12.10.2022
  • Reason: Construction site installation for the conversion of the adjacent school
  • Details: Waiting is mandatory for vehicles meeting in the roadway area.

Eichplatz (parking lot)

  • Type: Partial closure
  • Duration: until 04.12.2022
  • Reason: Carrying out archaeological investigations in advance of the development of construction site A
  • Details: In order to carry out the work professionally, restrictions on the parking lotare unavoidablefor a period of approx. five months. However, high priority will be given to ensuring that as many parking spaces and pathways as possible are maintained during the work. For this reason, the excavations will be carried out in three successive sections, as illustrated in the plan below.

    We would also like to point out that the usual main access to Eichplatz via Kollegiengasse will not be available during this period. However, the directly adjacent temporary access road can be used asan alternative to entering the parking lot .In addition, one of the tworamps leadingfrom the parking lot to the "Neue Mitte"will no longer be available.However, the second ramp is still available without restriction.

    The excavation work will generally be carried out Monday to Friday from 7 am to 4 pm.

Forest road

  • Type: Half-sided closure
  • Location: At house number 35a
  • Duration: until 31.12.2022
  • Reason: New construction of a residential building

Gerbergasse

  • Type: Closure of residents' parking lot
  • Start: 25.04.2022
  • Reason: Construction site installation
  • Details: Alternative residents' parking spaces have been set up in Wiesenstraße from the Am Saaleufer access road. These can be used immediately.

Großschwäbhäuser Straße

  • Type: One-way road closure on one side
  • Location: between the junction with Bundestraße 7 and the junction with Hauptstraße
  • Duration: until 28.10.2022
  • Reason: Civil engineering works
  • Details: Traffic can be driven from federal highway 7 in the direction of Hauptstraße using one-way traffic control. In the direction of Bundesstraße, traffic will be routed via the junction below. Pedestrians can pass the roadworks area safely.

Jägerbergstraße

  • Type: Complete closure
  • Duration: until 11.11.2022
  • Reason: Renewal of the road surface
  • Details: Heavy traffic will be widely diverted via the Bundesstraße 7. Car traffic will be diverted via Rautal and Closewitz.

Julius-Schaxel-Straße

  • Type: Complete closure
  • Duration: until 31.12.2022
  • Reason: Road expansion incl. pipe laying
  • Details: Pedestrians can pass the construction site safely. There will be 3 construction phases. Construction phases 2 + 3 will not take place until 2023.

Lessingstraße

  • Type: Complete closure
  • Location: House number 1-6
  • Duration: until 23.12.2022
  • Reason: Laying of district heating pipe
  • Details: Pedestrians and cyclists can pass the area safely.

Lobeda-Altstadt - Neulobeda - Drackendorf

  • Type: Restrictions
  • Duration: until approx. 14.10.2022
  • Reason: Civil engineering work to lay fiber optic cable

Eastern Löbdergraben

  • Type: Half-sided closure
  • Location: Height Saalstraße
  • Duration: extended until 02.12.2022
  • Reason: Installation of a construction site exit
  • Details: Pedestrians can still pass through the area.

Max-Gräfe-Gasse

  • Type: Partial closure
  • Location: Corner of Kreuzgasse
  • Duration: until 31.03.2023
  • Reason: Construction site installation for house conversion
  • Details: The construction site can always be passed. Pedestrians and cyclists can pass the construction site safely.

Oberaue

  • Type: Complete closure
  • Location: From the Saaleeingang Ernst-Abbe-Sportfeld entrance to just before the Lichtenhainer Brücke bridge
  • Duration: until 31.03.2023
  • Reason: Work on the stadium grandstand
  • Details: The Lichtenhain Bridge is not affected by the closure. A detour for pedestrians and cyclists is signposted.

Oberaue from the southern access road to the main access road at Stadtrodaer Straße

  • Type: Complete closure
  • Duration: until 31.12.2022
  • Reason: Fundamental expansion of the access road, expansion and widening of the main cycle path connection
  • Detour: A designated detour route will be set up for cyclists heading into and out of the city. The cycle routes run via Wöllnitzer Straße and Burgauer Weg.
  • Restrictions for swimmers accessing Südbad/Schleichersee and the beach bar as well as for adjacent sports facility users: The facilities will be accessible from the main stadium access road via a temporary footpath. This footpath can only be used by pedestrians - cyclists must dismount.
    Guests of the Schleichersee and the adjacent sports facilities as well as the traffic school with cars can use the parking lot in the Oberaue directly next to the main access road. This is only not possible when FC Carl Zeiss Jena is playing at home. A planning board will be set up at the main entrance to Oberaue so that road users are informed.

Stadtrodaer Straße

  • Type: Half-sided closure
  • Duration: until 11.11.2022
  • Location: Between the Goldberg tunnel and the Bäckergasse traffic lights
  • Reason: Construction of the cycle diversion

Thomas-Münzer-Weg

  • Type: Full closure
  • Location: House number 4
  • Duration: until 30.06.2023
  • Reason: Construction of a residential building
  • Details: The full closure is indicated by means of planning boards from both Jägerbergstraße and Max-Gräfe-Gasse. A wide detour must be taken around the closed area. Pedestrians and cyclists can pass the construction site safely.

Wöllnitz and Ammerbach

  • Type: temporary restrictions
  • Duration: expected to last until 28.02.2023
  • Reason: Civil engineering work for laying fiber optic cables

Change to the one-way street layout in Unterdorfstraße and Wöllnitzer Oberweg

  • Type: Complete closure
  • Location: Unterdorfstraße 2
  • Duration: until 31.12.2022
  • Reason: Construction work
  • Details: The one-way street layout will be changed in the above-mentioned streets. In Unterdorfstraße, it will then be possible to drive out of the city and in Wöllnitzer Oberweg, it will be possible to drive into the city. Cyclists will be able to ride against the one-way street in Wöllnitzer Oberweg. Signage will be erected at the start of the construction work to raise road users' awareness.

Ziegenhainer Straße

  • Type: Complete closure
  • Place: House number House number 7a
  • Duration: until 31.12.2022
  • Reason: New house construction
  • Details: Properties in the direction of Burgweg can be reached via this road. Pedestrians can pass the construction site safely.

To the Ziskauer valley (Lützeroda)

  • Type: Complete closure
  • Duration: until 21.12.2022
  • Reason : Civil engineering works (sewage; drinking water)
  • Details: A detour will be signposted on site.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  • Closure of the Goldberg tunnel for cyclists

    From mid-November, the Goldberg Tunnel will be undergoing emergency renovation work for 6 weeks with a full closure. After that, it will only be open to pedestrians. For cyclists, a temporary cycle path will be built along Stadtrodaer Straße to the Bäckergasse traffic lights. This situation will continue until the tunnel is completely rebuilt, for which planning will begin.

  • Half-sided closure in Dornburger Straße at house number 6

    From 07.11.2022 to 22.12.2022, a half-sided closure will be carried out in the above-mentioned area. Traffic heading into the city will be guided past the closure by means of a one-way street. Out-of-town traffic will be diverted via Spitzweidenweg and Nollendorfer Straße. Media will be relocated during the construction period. Pedestrians will be diverted to the other side of the road at safe crossing points in advance.
