Fire engines from Jena and Erlangen for Brovary in Ukraine
A small aid convoy from Jena set off on Friday evening for the Ukrainian solidarity partner city of Brovary near Kiev. Two used fire department transport vehicles from the Jena fire department were delivered. These vehicles were financed by donations amounting to €9,350, which were collected by the people of Jena around the turn of the year 2022/23. Lord Mayor Thomas Nitzsche thanked all donors for their support, which is still urgently needed.
The transport took place with the support of the fire department and the Lord Mayor's department. On the way, the convoy picked up a fire engine from the city of Erlangen, which the Franconian city is donating to Brovary. The vehicles were handed over to the Ukrainian partners on the Polish-Ukrainian border on Saturday night.
The town of Brovary is in urgent need of municipal vehicles, including fire engines of all kinds. Donations for support are still very welcome. The account details can be found on the municipal website.
