Jena celebrates diversity
On 23.05.2023 from 15:00 to 19:00, the city of Jena celebrates the "Day of Diversity" for the tenth time. Under the motto "Together as one", numerous Jena associations and stakeholders are inviting people to the Holzmarkt.
The Office for Migration and Integration of the Jena City Council is once again organizing the Day of Diversity this year with the Intercultural Opening Office of the AWO Mitte-West-Thüringen e.V. in cooperation with 24 sponsors and organizations in Jena. For many years, these have included research and development institutions, educational institutions, advice centers and committed people from the Jena association landscape. The topic of diversity affects everyone, because democracy thrives on diversity.
Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche says: "Jena's urban society, the numerous networks and associations and the many companies and scientific institutions in the city are actively committed to diversity - every day. But action days such as the Day of Diversity help to raise public awareness for more diversity and against discrimination and exclusion. My heartfelt thanks go to all partners who are helping to give diversity a special platform on 23.05.2023."

The association thus represents 14.7 million employees in Germany.
The Jena Economic Development Agency and the Jena City Council have also signed the Diversity Charter.
Nationwide, over 3,000 campaigns will celebrate diversity in the world of work on 23.05.2023. In Jena, Diversity Day also focuses on people in their diverse characteristics and their active participation beyond the world of work.
