Launch of new swap house
The "Tauschhaus 2.0" at Löbstedter Straße 68 has opened its doors. This is a joint project between Kommunalservice Jena (KSJ) and Saale Betreuungswerk der Lebenshilfe Jena gGmbH.
"We are incredibly proud to run the swap house in a new format for our city. It is a place where people can come together to share items, conserve resources and build relationships. I hope that the Tauschhaus is another step that encourages people to make more conscious choices," said KSJ-Werkeiter Uwe Feige. The swap house, located opposite the Imaginata, was created to bring the community closer together and further promote the idea of sharing.
The concept of the swap house is simple: anyone can donate unused and usable items such as children's items (baby carriages, baby carriages, bicycles, etc.), books, games, household goods (crockery, cutlery, cups, etc.) and in return take items that others have made available. However, clothing, furniture and electronic items are not accepted.
Opening hours:
The swap house is now open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm.
Background:
The idea of a swap house was first implemented in 2017 at Wertstoffhof Nord - initially only for the exchange of books. The "range" was later expanded to include other media and games.
Donations can be handed in directly at the new swap house and still at the Löbstedter Straße 56 recycling center during opening hours. The old exchange house and the familiar shopping cart (for book donations) will be available until December 31, 2023.
