Digital innovations you can touch at StadtLab Jena

17.11.2023

On November 20 and 21, 2023, StadtLab Jena will be presenting exciting insights into the world of digital innovations at the Market of Digital Opportunities as part of the German government's Digital Summit. Interested citizens can experience a varied program on the topics of new technology trends in retail, virtual tours and children's interaction with new technologies at Löbderstraße 6 from 11 am. On site, the model factory "Virtualization of the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Ilmenau", the Zentrum Handel of Mittelstand-Digital from Cologne and Dr. Michaela Honauer from the University of Twente (Netherlands) will provide exciting insights into the (shopping) world of tomorrow. StadtLab Jena also invites you to a keynote speech with Alexander Weßling, speaker at Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Handel, on Monday at 7 pm. He will be speaking on the topic of "Digital retail locations - revitalizing city centres".

Virtualization model factory

At the stand of the Virtualization Model Factory of the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Ilmenau, visitors can enter the world of virtual tours and experience first-hand how local institutions such as the Gernewitz farm store and the Jena kindergarten "Schatzinsel" come to life through innovative virtualization. The model factory not only offers fascinating insights, but also makes it possible to follow the creation process of virtual tours up close at the Digital Summit.

DigitalMobile

The DigitalMobil of the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Handel will be presenting ten different innovative retail technologies at StadtLab Jena, including digital store posters, 360-degree tours and fully integrated payment systems. On both days, interested parties will have the opportunity to discover these digital solutions in an interactive exhibition, take a look into the future of retail and try out the technologies themselves in guided tours. In the evening, Alexander Weßling, speaker at Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Handel, will speak on the topic of "Digital retail locations - revitalizing city centres" from 7 pm.

Artificial intelligence

A fascinating journey into the world of artificial intelligence awaits the citizens of Jena on Tuesday evening, when internationally renowned design researcher Dr. Michaela Honauer will provide insights into her groundbreaking study on "Children and Artificial Intelligence (AI)" at StadtLab Jena from 6 pm. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for anyone interested to join in the discussion about how technology influences the lives of our children.

StadtLab Jena cordially invites all interested parties to take part in the Market of Digital Possibilities and explore the digital future. Further information on the program and the participating partners can be found on the Stadtlap website.
