Important function for plant manager of Kommunalservice Jena
The plant manager of Kommunalservice Jena (KSJ), Uwe Feige, was elected as the new Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Waste Management and Urban Cleanliness Division of the Association of Municipal Enterprises (VKU). This election marks a historic moment, as it is the first time that a representative from the new federal states has taken on this important role.
This year, the association can look back on a 75-year history. Founded in 1949, the VKU represents the interests of municipal companies in Germany. It is committed to the interests of energy, water and waste management and promotes exchange and cooperation between the member companies.
The election of Uwe Feige as Chairman of the Steering Committee for Waste Management and Urban Cleanliness is a significant step for the VKU and reflects the increasing importance of the new federal states within the association. Feige brings with him extensive experience and expertise, which he has already demonstrated in recent years as plant manager of the KSJ.
