Jena at Smart City Congress in Barcelona

Barcelona is the hotspot for digitalization and networking until 7 November: the three-day Smart City Expo World Congress will bring together leading minds, innovative cities and digital visionaries from all over the world to discuss the latest trends and solutions for the cities of the future. The city of Jena will also be there with its Smart City project at the LEG Thüringen stand to network with international experts and partner cities about forward-looking digital strategies and practical approaches for smart urban development and to learn from each other.

Jena data platform finds audience in
Barcelona

The focus is on the presentation of the Urban Data Platform (UDP). This was developed by the Smart City Project Jena together with Data in Motion Consulting GmbH . The model-based UDP enables data protection-compliant access to a wide range of urban data. In addition to the technical implementation, the focus is on data protection, networking and sustainability. Jena is thus demonstrating how data-driven urban development can shape sustainable and liveable urban spaces.

Thuringia on the international stage

By participating in Barcelona, Thuringia is demonstrating its growing importance as a location for digital innovation and smart urban development. The exchange with international experts, the development of new cooperation models and access to the latest trends in digitalization are essential for the success of smart cities. "It's great that we are in Barcelona not only to raise awareness of our smart city project Jena, but also to strengthen Thuringia as a digital location. At the Smart City Expo World Congress, we want to show that Jena is successfully implementing innovative ideas while always keeping the needs and wishes of our citizens in focus," emphasizes Dorothea Prell, overall project manager of Smart City Jena. The Smart City Expo World Congress also offers Jena the opportunity to exchange ideas with other international cities and technology partners and to learn from each other. By collaborating with other cities and presenting best practices, Jena can benefit from the experiences of others and at the same time contribute inspiration and know-how to the global smart city community.
