Football pitch at Kritzegraben playground playable again after renovation

19.12.2024

The football pitch on the playground at Kritzegraben can be used again after extensive renovation. Head of Department Johannes Schleußner officially reopened the facility today, together with the district mayor of Jena-Zentrum, Cornelia Förster, and Johannes Haschke from the district council as well as Christian Putzmann and Ralf Burreh from Kommunalservice Jena.

The measure was necessary because the football pitch was getting on in years. The ball catch fence, the basketball hoops and the soccer goals no longer met safety standards. The synthetic surface was also worn out. During the refurbishment, which began in August, the area around the pitch was also redesigned with barrier-free access and new benches, among other things. A total of around 280,000 euros was invested.
