Apply for resident requests online
Whether on parking spaces, daycare fees or sports facilities - citizens can submit questions, suggestions and proposals on a wide range of municipal matters. These are dealt with during the 30-minute residents' question time at the beginning of every public city council meeting. Every request must be submitted in writing to the City Council office. Thanks to a new web form, interested parties can now also submit their questions online.
The form can be found on the City of Jena's service portal: jena.de/einwohneranfrage
In the first step, the form asks for the address in order to check whether the person is actually a resident of the city of Jena. If the address is not in the city area, the application cannot be completed any further. After entering the personal data, the request can be briefly explained and formulated in a maximum of three sub-questions. You will then be asked whether you would like to submit the request yourself. If a representative is to be sent, their name must be entered. It is also important to ask whether the citizen wishes to receive a written response to the request.
Until now, residents' inquiries have been sent to the City Council office by e-mail or post. As not all the necessary information was available in the first step, it was often necessary to ask several times. The online form therefore makes things easier for both sides: for citizens, because they know what information they need to provide. And for those processing the application, because they receive everything they need in one place. Once the application has been successfully completed, the applicant receives a confirmation of receipt directly by e-mail, as well as all the data they entered in the form for their documents.
The online form is an additional service to the previous application channels. However, the deadlines are the same for all variants: the request must be submitted in writing by 2 p.m. at the latest 14 days before the city council meeting.
