Commemoration of the end of the Second World War in Europe 80 years ago

The day of liberation from National Socialism and the end of the Second World War in Europe 80 years ago will be commemorated on May 8, 2025 at 4.30 pm with a public memorial event.

A wreath will be laid at the memorial and information stele at the site of the former satellite camp, Löbstedter Straße 56 (KSJ property). After a welcoming address by Lord Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche, the academic and author Dr. Marc Bartuschka will give a commemorative speech.
