20 years of JenaKultur
On Saturday, 17.05.2025, the time has come: Numerous JenaKultur houses and facilities throughout the city will open their doors. The occasion is the 20th anniversary of the municipal enterprise. The presentation of JenaKultur's extensive portfolio is primarily intended as a thank you to the citizens of Jena, whose loyalty (to concerts, exhibitions, courses and other offers) is essential for the municipal enterprise. They are given the opportunity to go on a voyage of discovery free of charge. There will be taster and hands-on activities, guided tours, musical tastings, talks and much more.
Kicking off with a concert on Friday evening
The Jena Philharmonic concert on Friday, 16.05.2025 will serve as a prologue. On this evening, the artist in residence, Simon Höfele, and Rosa Donata Milton, deputy first concertmaster of the Jena Philharmonic, will conduct the orchestra alternately from their instruments. So there is no conductor in the traditional sense. The program includes works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn, Johann Baptist Georg Neruda and Edvard Grieg. Johannes Schleußner, Head of Cultural Affairs, and Friedrun Vollmer, JenaKultur's Director of Culture and Cultural Education, will welcome the audience.
Collect stamps and win prizes
On Saturday, 17.05.2025, between 10:00 and 16:00 or 17:00, the vhs tasting store, the Jena Municipal Museums together with the Carmelite Monastery, the Jena Tourist Information, Villa Rosenthal, the Jena Music and Art School and the Ernst Abbe Library, both also in their branches in Lobeda, the LISA and of course the spring market invite you to numerous program points for young and old. Visitors can collect stamps at the various stations on their tour through the city and, with a bit of luck, win a prize. These will be drawn from all participants on the spring market stage at around 7:30 pm. Mayor Dr. Thomas Nitzsche and the entire management team of JenaKultur will be present.
