Online info meeting on 10.06.2024 to prepare for the "Code Week"

04.06.2024

Tinkering, hacking, programming - numerous workshops and offers for children and young people are on the program during "Code Week Thuringia" in October. At an online meeting on Monday, 10 June, interested parties will learn, among other things, how they can organize and register a workshop for "Code Week" themselves, what information materials and funding opportunities are available and which regional contacts they can get in touch with. In the second part of the event, participants can ask their own questions. There will also be an opportunity to exchange ideas and network with initiatives in the region. The information meeting is aimed at teachers, as well as those involved in child and youth work and other interested parties.

The "Code Week Thuringia" will take place from 7.10.2024 to 27.10.2024. The aim is to enable children and young people to get to grips with hardware and software in a fun way and to show them how much fun, creativity and teamwork there is in programming. Most of the offers are free of charge and usually no previous knowledge is required.

Code Week is a global initiative supported by the EU Commission. Last year, almost 1,250 events took place across Germany and around 72,000 across Europe. Hundreds of initiatives - from schools and universities, libraries, cultural institutions and companies as well as open child and youth work facilities - are taking part in Germany. The local initiators are the industry network JENA Digital e.V. and the association for scientific and technical learning locations in Jena, witelo. The "Code Week" is part of the Smart City project.
