Open day at the fire department

The Jena Fire Brigade invites you to an open day at the Jena Emergency Response Center on Sunday, 04.08.2024. From 10:00 to 16:00, all interested parties are cordially invited to explore the premises at Am Anger 28. In addition to the firefighters, teams from associations, organizations and cooperating authorities will be on site. Visitors will not only gain an insight into the respective activities and areas of responsibility, but will also be able to view a wide variety of emergency vehicles with the associated technology and the DRF Luftrettung intensive care helicopter.

Demonstrations, hands-on activities, information stands

The program includes live demonstrations of firefighting, technical assistance, dangerous goods exercises and water rescue. There will also be guided tours of the North Fire Station.

Visitors can get hands-on at stations such as the knowledge trail, extinguishing and skill exercises. A bouncy castle awaits younger guests.

Numerous stands will provide information about the opportunities for vocational training and involvement in clubs or youth organizations. The Jena Central Control Center will provide insights into its work and one stand will explain what to do in the event of an incident in a road tunnel.

The event area extends from the parking lot (former fire station) across the street "Am Anger" between Käthe-Kollwitz-Straße and Wiesenstraße, on to the grounds of the emergency response center (GAZ) to the parking lot behind the building "Am Anger 26".
