Participation of children and young people in Jena

On 23.11.2022, the symposium "Participation of children and young people in Jena" will take place from 09:30 to 14:00 in the historic town hall. The topic will be the city's participation strategy for children and young people, which was adopted by the city council in 2014. Since then, many new structures for the participation of children and young people in Jena have been established and the topic has a firm place in city policy. However, eight years also means new legal foundations (SGB VIII, ThürKJHAG, ThürSchulG), developments in professional discussions and changing structures.

The aim is to sensitize the participants to the relevance of the topic through specialist expertise, inputs and workshops, to jointly evaluate established structures and to provide space for ideas and discussions for a sustainable and effective participation strategy.

The symposium is organized by the Demokratischer Jugendring Jena together with the City of Jena - the Youth Work/Youth Social Work Team, the Integrated Social Planning Team and the Citizen Participation Coordination Office.
