ProbierLaden is taking a summer break

31.07.2026

The ProbierLaden at Engelplatz is taking a short summer break. From August 3 through August 17, 2026, the city’s digital inclusion center will be closed. Starting August 18, consultations, courses, and events will resume.

Ahead of the summer break, the project is reporting very positive interim results: Since opening on September 26, 2024, the ProbierLaden and the ProbierMobil have reached a total of 7,392 people. The latest figures, as of July 14, 2026, demonstrate the high level of interest in accessible and personalized support for digital issues.

The results include, among other things:

• 5,150 people who received individual counseling,
• 1,413 participants in courses and individual events,
• 14 deployments of the ProbierMobil in various parts of the city,
• 740 visitors to the mobile services.

The ProbierLaden helps people learn about digital applications and devices and use them more confidently. The focus is on personal consultations as well as courses and events covering everyday digital topics.
The permanent location at Engelplatz is complemented by the ProbierMobil. With its counseling, information, and hands-on activities, it travels to various neighborhoods in Jena as well as to festivals and events. The mobile unit raises awareness of the services outside the ProbierLaden and makes it possible to reach additional target groups.

Further information on the services and opening hours is available on the Jena Adult Education Center’s website.

The ProbierLaden and ProbierMobil are a joint initiative of the Jena Smart City Project, the Jena Adult Education Center, and JenaKultur.
