Public meeting of the Housing Industry WG

21.11.2022

The city of Jena has been monitoring urban redevelopment for many years. Current demographic developments and housing market events are recorded annually in order to be able to empirically evaluate the urban redevelopment process.

In recent years with the Corona pandemic, this year with the Ukraine conflict, the energy crisis and the growing cost of materials, for example in the construction industry, there are several issues that directly or indirectly affect housing. On the topic of housing, the city administration conducted a resident survey this summer. In over 35 individual questions, housing in Jena was highlighted with questions about life in the city and the housing and living environment situation.

This year's public meeting of the housing industry working group will therefore focus primarily on the evaluation of the survey and the topic of "Housing satisfaction in Jena".

To this event on November 22, 2022, 5 p.m., in the Volkshaus, Grete-Unrein-Saal, Carl-Zeiss-Platz 15

all citizens are are cordially invited.

After the presentation of the results from the residents' survey 2022 by Mr. Jacobs, TIMOUROU Wohn- und Stadtraumkonzepte, there will be a panel discussion on the topic and discussion in plenary. This will be chaired by Thorsten Büker (Mediengruppe Thüringen).

Furthermore, Christian Gerlitz (Mayor and Head of Department for Urban Development and Environment), Tobias Wolfrum (jenawohnen GmbH/ Stadtwerke Jena-Pößneck), Iris Hippauf (WG Carl-Zeiss e.G.), Astrid Horbank (District Office Jena-Lobeda) and Barbara Wolf (Municipality Jena FD Social Affairs) will participate on the panel.

Mayor Christian Gerlitz:

"I cordially invite all residents of the city to inform themselves about the housing situation in Jena at the meeting of the housing industry working group and to enter into conversation with the players in the Jena housing market."
