Public participation in the noise action plan begins

17.05.2023

Jena should become quieter - that is the aim of the noise action plan that the city council is currently updating. The focus is on noise reduction on main roads. The public has the opportunity to participate in the noise action plan and comment on noise problems until 18.06.2023.

First phase of public participation

In this first phase of public participation, participants can use an interactive map until 18.06.2023 to indicate locations where they feel disturbed by road traffic noise. Suggestions for noise reduction can then be made for each location named.

Participation in the survey is possible online. The questionnaire can also be collected in paper form from the city administration (Environmental Protection Department, Am Anger 26, 1st floor).

Second phase of public participation

A second phase of public participation is planned for the end of 2023. Citizens will then be able to view the draft noise action plan and provide feedback.

More detailed information on noise action planning and the results of the noise calculation can also be found on the environment portal.
