Rapid testing options for pupils extended
Due to the upcoming Easter vacations, there is an increased demand for rapid tests. Four test centers are already available for all citizens of Jena.
A special offer will therefore be set up on Friday, March 26, especially for schoolchildren whose schools were unable to implement the municipal test offer at short notice: With child-friendly spit tests, a test station will be set up by the DRK in the courtyard of the old streetcar depot (Dornburger Straße 17, nearest streetcar stop "Nordschule") from 12:30 to 14:30.
After the first positive cases were discovered in the tests launched on Tuesday at Jena's elementary school, it seems all the more important to offer all families a testing service that is particularly geared towards primary school children. Mayor Christian Gerlitz once again thanks the DRK for the smooth cooperation:
"It is always very reassuring to be able to respond quickly to needs with flexible and reliable partners like the DRK. We also want to give parents the opportunity to start their vacations with a little more peace of mind. In principle, our efforts must continue to focus on keeping particularly important areas of society - above all, of course, schools - open with all our strength, even if the infection situation worsens again. For this reason, I am very pleased that we were able to set up a successful Jena model project for testing in elementary school at short notice. I hope that this will find imitators throughout Thuringia."
